Firearms for auction

For Sale by the Auction Method of Marketing. What does that mean for me?

Have you ever thought about what ways you can sell your extra or inherited stuff?  From my experience, you can have a yard or garage sale, rent space in a resale shop, post it online or on a social media platform or hire an estate seller or hire a professional auctioneer.

Reviewing the options there is considerable hard physical labor, money and time spent to prepare, advertise your items yourself which even if the platform says it is free to list there is your time, ad layout plus management to promote your items.  Then after negotiation, you must get paid and be prepared to deliver or ship the items yourself.

Hire a professional team that is established in sales and marketing. Marketers who have their pulse on the resale market and have a mobile app and mobile-friendly website to market your items to the most amount of buyers looking for what you have to sell.

Your efforts will include contacting the pros (phone, email or text) sending them a few photos with your camera already on your phone and making sure your items are ready to sell (clean and ready for use by someone else) then let the magic happen.

Our team will either pick up your items or you can drop off, we will determine the best sales approach and handle the online advertising, print advertising, and photography with the online listing and promotion of the items.  After the sale, we collect and process the payments and ship or direct the pick up of the items in a business location (not your home).

The auction method encourages buyers to compete with other buyers for your item.  The “it’s mine” “gotta have it” investment of the buyer helps to bring the price up to the value people are willing to pay for what they want or need.  In many instances, prices go above the expected selling price.

Looking for values of items like you have?  Look online at auction houses that post their prices realized for like items at auction.  eBay is a good source for price gathering IF you look at the sold prices, not the asking prices.  When you are surfing the internet to see what things sell for keep in mind collector guides and books are difficult because as they research the prices and compile the research and publish the guide time has gone by and in today’s markets prices change quickly.

Now that you have decided to hire a professional think about this:

  • What you have to sell
  • What is your timeline on getting the items gone
  • Prices you think are reasonable
  • Will it sell in today’s market
  • Is the company reliable or have a good reputation
  • Are they licensed, (Firearms need FFL Licensing) insured or bonded
  • What education do they have
  • Go to their sales for yourself and watch the process
  • Talk with the other buyers about what they think of the business you are considering for hire
  • What is the commission rate and be sure to ask are there any other costs to you above the commission rate

Now that I have given you some things to consider do you have any other questions about selling your items?  If so fill out the contact form below and we will talk soon.
