How to Buy Firearms from Online Auctions?
Let us show you how to buy a Firearm from online auctions. The most crucial piece of information is that the BIDDER IS THE BUYER. The buyer needs to register, bid, and complete the sale. Make sure the bidding is done in your name, not by a spouse or friend’s account 😉 Please do not bid and buy firearms for someone who cannot; it is illegal. You could be at risk; do not buy for someone else. “Don’t buy for the other guy.”
Federal law requires every winning bidder to complete an ATF 4473 and background check. Unless the firearm purchased is an antique, it is your responsibility to determine if your purchase conforms to your local and state laws regarding ownership.
Pointers on how to bid – How to bid or register in an online auction
First, you have to enter the online catalog and open it:
Our online auction is located at this web address: https://amp-tag.hibid.com.
Then, you can view the online catalog by opening it and scrolling through the lots. Click “View Catalog”. There are three viewing options for you to try. The view options are located on the top right side of the open catalog, and it looks like this: Click on each one to see which works best for you.
Before you bid, you will need to register for the auction. The login and registration are located at the top of the catalog landing page like this:
Click on the login / new bidder link, which will take you to the registration page. Here, you will add your name, address, phone number, email address, and credit card information. Your credit card information is necessary to ensure all bidders are registered and intend to complete the auction, so there is no playing around on the internet.
To view all the information in a lot, click on the photos. Another screen will open with multiple photos and a complete description of the item you intend to bid on. You can bid right from this screen. You click the bid button, enter your bid amount, and then confirm your bid amount. Be careful to view your bid amount before you confirm. Once entered, it can not be deleted or changed. Remember, if you need help, contact Auctioneer Liz Drake here at Asset Marketing Pros, and she will guide you through the process.

All winning bidders of a firearm will complete this process at our facility before you pick up your firearm.
To complete the Firearms Transaction Record ATF Form 4473, you must present your identification (establish identity, place of residence, physical address, and buyer’s age)—examples: Texas State Driver’s License or other Valid Government-Issued Identification that will fulfill the requirements.
Texas License to Carry Hand Gun holders are exempt from the background check, but you must still complete Form 4473. Remember to have LTC & Driver’s License on hand to complete the form and verify your identity.
You can download a copy of the ATF Form 4473 above and pre-fill the form. Do not sign or date the form. Your signature and date will be completed at the auction house after your identity has been confirmed. Please read the instructions and only fill in the buyer’s sections of the form. As the FFL, we are responsible for completing the balance of the form.
Are you unable to pick it up at our facility?
