When you click a bid button, the software will open the online registration form. Registration is required to prove that a real person intends to purchase and enter a bid amount. Registration requires your name, address, and credit card information, and it must match the registered bidder’s and the credit card company’s information. This is the amount of US dollars you must enter to raise a bid. Increments vary by auction. Read the auction information in the online catalog to see the required bid increments. Example: bid increments may be in $1, $5, $10, etc.
A buyer’s premium is a percentage added to the winning bid price. It helps cover auction costs, including the online bidding platform, cataloging, photography, marketing, payment processing, customer service, and sale administration.
For example, if you win an item for $100 and the auction has a 15% buyer’s premium, $15 is added to the winning bid, making the purchase price $115 before any applicable sales tax, shipping, or other charges.
Always include the buyer’s premium when deciding your maximum bid.
You can pay by credit card (as entered during registration), by bank wire transfer (required for invoices over $2000), or in person with cash, check, or other credit/debit cards, with proper identification. ** Please see the discount offered for paying by cash. (-3% on most auctions).
