Shipping & Pickup After an Online Auction: What Buyers Need to Know

AMP BUYER GUIDE • AFTER THE AUCTION

Winning the bid is only the first part of the process. Here is what to expect next—from your invoice and Shipping Saint message to pickup, packing, shipping and tracking.

You Won the Auction. What Happens Next?

After an AMP online auction closes, winning bidders receive information about their purchases and the next steps. We use Shipping Saint to help organize post-auction communication, pickup scheduling and shipping.

The exact payment, pickup and shipping requirements can vary from one auction to another, so always read the terms for the auction you are bidding in. Those auction-specific terms control the deadlines, available fulfillment options and charges for that sale.

    THE SIMPLE VERSION

Watch your text messages and email after the auction. Your post-auction message will help you move to the next step. Depending on the auction and the item, you may be able to choose pickup or shipping and follow the instructions provided for your purchase.

    1. Watch for Your Post-Auction Message

Once the auction is processed, AMP uses Shipping Saint to communicate with winning bidders by text and email. Keep an eye on both, and check your spam or junk folder if you are expecting a message and do not see it.

Shipping Saint is designed specifically for post-auction fulfillment and can be used for buyer notifications, invoices, pickup scheduling, shipping updates and tracking. That gives you one organized path from the end of the auction to receiving your items.

    2. Choose Pickup or Shipping When Available

    Picking Up at AMP

If pickup is available for your items, follow the instructions in your post-auction message. When scheduling is offered, select an available pickup time so we can have your purchases organized and ready.

    AMP:
    156 N Robb St
    Trinity, TX 75862

    Having Your Items Shipped

If shipping is available for your purchases, follow the shipping instructions provided after the auction. Your items move through AMP’s packing and fulfillment process, and you will receive the applicable shipping information and payment request before the package is released to the carrier.

    3. Pickup: Please Follow the Auction Schedule

Pickup windows and deadlines are set for each auction. Some auctions have a short pickup period because AMP may need to clear the auction location, prepare for another sale or return access to a property owner.

    • Read the pickup dates and location before you bid.
    • Use the scheduling instructions provided after the auction when applicable.
    • Bring the help, vehicle and equipment needed to safely remove larger purchases.
    • If something changes, contact AMP as soon as possible rather than missing your scheduled pickup without notice.

WHY WE DON’T GIVE ONE UNIVERSAL PICKUP DEADLINE

Pickup requirements can change depending on the auction. The dates and deadlines shown in the current auction catalog and terms are the ones that apply to your purchases.

    4. Shipping: Packing Comes Before the Shipping Quote

Shipping an auction purchase is different from ordering a new item from a retail website. Auction lots vary in size, weight, value and fragility. We first have to determine how the item can be packed appropriately before the final shipment can be prepared.

Shipping Saint helps AMP organize the fulfillment process and compare carrier options. It also supports address verification, shipping labels, tracking and insurance-related workflows. Shipping costs can therefore depend on the item, packing materials, labor, package size and weight, destination, carrier service and any appropriate coverage.

Because those details are specific to the actual purchase, a final shipping amount may not be available while you are bidding.

    5. Pay the Shipping Charge & Watch for Tracking

When your shipment is ready for the next step, follow the payment instructions sent to you. Once the shipment is completed and handed off to the carrier, tracking information can be sent through the post-auction communication system.

Keep the tracking information until your package arrives, and contact AMP promptly if you have a question about a shipment from one of our auctions.

Special Items May Need a Different Process

Not every auction item can be handled the same way. Oversized, unusually fragile, high-value or regulated items may require different packing, pickup or transfer arrangements. The lot description and auction terms should be your first reference.

Firearms are a good example. A firearm that must be shipped is handled through the appropriate FFL transfer process rather than being shipped directly to the buyer. See our Buying a Firearm at an Online Auction guide for the firearm-specific process.

    Shipping & Pickup FAQ

How do I know whether my item can be shipped?

Check the auction terms and lot information before bidding. If the shipping status of a particular item is unclear, contact AMP before you place your bid.

Why can’t you tell me the exact shipping cost before the auction?

The final package dimensions, weight, packing requirements, destination and carrier option may not be known until the actual winning items are prepared for shipment.

What if I need to change my pickup time?

Contact AMP as soon as possible. We will tell you what options are available based on that auction’s pickup schedule and location.

Where should I look if I don’t see the post-auction message?

Check the email address and phone number associated with your bidder account, including your spam or junk folder. If you still do not see the information you expected, contact AMP.

Does every auction use exactly the same pickup and shipping rules?

No. The current auction’s terms, lot descriptions and post-auction instructions control. Always review them before bidding.

    Questions About a Purchase?
